[...] pianistic magic.

It is a pleasure to see someone who is as comfortable appearing before audience as is Mr. Katsaris (...) loves playing the piano.
He is an exuberant but sensitive performer with a big technique, and he never plays a note without a musical idea and context behind it.

An intimate evening in the grand manner
A rare Manhattan treat to hear Cyprien Katsaris (...) It was an idiosyncratic recital from a programming standpoint, but it completely typified the pianist’s long-standing reputation for colossal pyrotechnics and fierce individuality (...) the Allegretto from the Beethoven/Liszt Seventh Symphony stood out for Katsaris’ superbly varied articulation and subtle control of dynamics (...)

"Katsaris brings poetry and Lisztian fireworks to wide-ranging program"
Tthe French-Cypriot pianist exhibited rock-solid dexterity, a larger-than-life artistic personality and an individualistic interpretive streak...The wild leaps and clusters held no terrors for the pianist, his big-boned virtuosity at full throttle...Katsaris’ wide-ranging color palette brought poetry to music that can seem repetitive in less gifted hands...Katsaris is a born Chopin player...the sheer generosity of Katsaris’ keyboard fireworks was exhilarating, earning a well deserved standing ovation.

Pianiste, Juillet-août 2010 | B.A.

Pianiste, March-April 2010 | B.B.
Un disque passionnant.

The final disc of the concertos is a real delight. Maxim Vengerov is the soloist in the Violin Concerto, turning in a beautifully played account, while Cyprien Katsaris has just the quicksilver virtuosity and mischief to make the piano concertos skip along irresistibly.

Adelaidenow.com.au, 13.11.2008 | Stephen Whittington
[…] it was more than sufficient to demonstrate that Katsaris is an absolute master of the intrument. […] He also displays a wonderful ability to elicit colours from the instrument, from the softest shades to vibrant fortissimo. […] one could detect Katsaris unique artistic personality, which combines the utmost seriousness with an impish sense of humour.

Nordbayerischer Kurier, 26./27.7.2008 | Roman Kocholl
Katsaris celebrated playful levity particularly in the first section of the program, where the audience was treated to music by three generations of the Mozart family. The line extended from Leopold to Wolfgang Amadeus to Franz Xaver Mozart. [...] Bach’s famous D minor Toccata and Fugue for organ, in the pianist’s own arrangement, closed the programme. The opening motif thundered through the Markgräfliche Opernhaus as though it were being chiselled out of the piano: Katsaris began the Fuge section magnificently, almost “music box like”. But the sound expanded as the piece went on, and Katsaris’ playing became increasingly dramatic. [...] Rapturous applause and three encores.

[...] Begeisterter Beifall und drei Zugaben.

[French Music Vol. 2] Katsaris is a most persuasive guide through this fascinating musical journey, the barnstorming Liszt/Katsaris arrangement of the Marseillaise being an obvious highlight. Performance ****

[Grieg Piano Concerto] With his almost Mozartian conception of the Concerto, and his fabulously crystal-clear articulation in the Lyric Pieces, Katsaris manages to make these well-worn favourites sound really fresh and spontaneous.

[Complete Mozart Piano Concertos] I urge you to hear these discs - there is excellent Mozart playing here, the dedicated musicianship of the artist is self-evident and the chance of hearing ver rare additional music is not to be ignored.

Göttinger Tageblatt, 26.2.2007, Michael Schäfer
