Short Biography
Stefan Stroissnig (b.1985 in Vienna) began his first piano lessons at the age of seven, then later completed his studies with Oleg Maisenberg (mdw Vienna) and Ian Jones (RCM London). He received further artistic impetus from Daniel Barenboim, Rudolf Kehrer, Dmitri Bashkirov and Vadim Suchanow.

Stefan Stroissnig has performed as a soloist with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, among others; further appearances at prestigious venues such as Vienna Musikverein, Vienna Konzerthaus and Berlin Philharmonic, as well as in Japan, USA and Australia.

Furthermore Stefan Stroissnig was invited to perform at various prestigious festivals such as Salzburg, Carinthian Summer, Ruhr, Rheingau, Kyoto, London and Divonne-les-Bains.

For his recording of piano works by Schubert and Liszt Stefan Stroissnig was awarded the “Pasticcio-Price” of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF).

Stefan Stroissnig was recently nominated by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for the Credit Suisse Award 2014.

On 17th of April 2015 he was awarded with the Premio Revelacíon by the Asociacíon de Críticos Musicales de la Argentina.
